Bigger and Badder

It's finally March and time to think spring. It also means that it's time to make your bike faster and cooler than everyone else's! Lately, I hear a lot of Evo riders wanting to build their engines to hang with the twin cams. A good running 80-inch Evo with a good head job and cam will run with a 95 inch twin cam. But some twin cams seem to be too fast for any 80 inch Evo.

At FireHouse Performance we have come up with a solution. We can take your 80 inch Evo and turn it into a 94-inch animal! This is possible with the help of Wiseco piston, which is based in Mentor, Ohio. They will take your 1996-1997 cases and bore them to 3.75 inches instead of your stock 3.75-inch bore. The 3.75-inch bore with a stock 4.5-inch stroke will give you 94-inches of pure fun. This is only possible on 1984-1989 and 1996-1999 cases because Harley cases from 1990-1995 were not strong enough to hold up to the added strain. So, if you own a 1990 - 1995 Evo you would have to invest in a new set of cases to perform this upgrade. With a 94-inch Evo you will hang with most all twin cams because the heads on an Evo will flow better than a twin cam head unless it is ported.

This upgrade will cost you about $2000 to $3000 depending on which upgrades you wish to do. It seems like a lot, but it is still cheaper than a new bike. If you don't want to tear your whole engine apart, we also have a new nitrous oxide kit from Edelbrock, which installs easily and looks as awesome as it performs It is the first direct bolt-on-kit for a motorcycle and costs around $1000. It will give you about 35 extra horsepower when you need it. It is a nice kit and Harley engines hold up very well to nitrous.

No matter what you plan for spring is, stop in at FireHouse Performance, and we'll help you.
